Duality of existence

From the station as a title which reflects a stigma of a spontaneous thought which makes us feel a flow of a journey that takes one to a another stage of experience in kinetic platform of movement which can be thought as physical journey or a mental state reaching for the other. Artist Nityananada in his first solo has this urge to convey and express his journey of station as how this place has given him sanctuary and also a salvation where he identified and contemplated his existence. Nityananda is a young artist who lived in Kolkata and worked and studied for a time being. So this station in Kolkata became the theatrical state of his creative overtures. An artist of expression relates to things objects and places according to his mental and physical state. So to say, the environmental symbol of station is a meeting place of characters where everything is on the run. And some are rested for to move on. The scenario elements are changing and there are characters that are static because this place of movement is static to them. As an artist he tries to penetrate the physical realism of the characters and also at times his mental association to them. His line is submerged with the obscured scenario and at times illustrative, depending on his temperament. He produces his images with the medium of printmaking and collaborates etching techniques as well as lithographic procedures with an emulsion of graphic and chiaroscuro essence to assemble mystery and uncertainty. The characters he depicts at times relates to a distinct manifestation of its individual journeys as well as synchronise unity. He portrays people in their youth sitting in the station rejoicing their adda as spirited gestures, and then he goes on creating characters that are lonely contemplating on his life’s absurdities. Old couples sharing their insecurities and thinking about their new existence on the other side. He tries to show sequences of man’s journey like where the station is theatrical and it has sequences of individual happenings. He as a young artist, who is possessed with very detailed technical abilities, has the urge to go beyond it by creating a sense of magic realism sensibilities with the forms of realism. To him a station is a monolithic stand of life’s turning point where things can travel into a domain of nonexistence or a rebirth to karmic reinvention for other existence. He created a nonverbal communication with beggars, coolies and rickshaw pullers with observation and transmitting them into a transit of visuality and their presence. The mad deaf man became his empathy motif where he also portrayed tied up young men with blind folded darkness to compel the harshness and indifference of existence and the misleading.
He has also portrayed prostitutes as he saw them on the Dhaka streets where collision of sight and the light of the night created interest for him to portray, as his works deals with reality in its existing ground, he created his etchings with inner renderings of form as opposed to some of his extreme realism of the night environment at the station. His choices varied because he also felt a kind of enthusiasm to create a certain perfection of the print techniques which opposes at times with his literary aspirations; But as an artist who wants to create his empirical journeys he blended the artification and instinct with his inventive attitudes where poles of letting go and stagnate played an ethereal and unethereal dilemma. His blending of existence, finding norms for it in his engagement with space is parallel working on finding a rage of inner impulse and manifestation with medium of printmaking and the typography textural surface making where at times it is surface and other time it is a story.

TEAR THE SKIN OF REALITY!
It takes more than a lifetime to comprehend the reality of living. It takes more than that to live for the quest of sensation. To live is to die in the blink of a second – a thing that remains a mystery of the unknown.
We cannot contain any form of emotion as eternal; they are all a flow of thought, identified as sorrow or greatness. The chess game of life and death is an impulse of that intrinsic moment, so let us make love to emptiness: fill it up with elements that thrill us with gelatine of despair and mold it into lines that speak in its own terms.
It is a multitude of association of thoughts and visions. This grows out of my physical and mental experiences. I depict simultaneous sensations mingled with reality of the seen and unseen. I hold onto a line on the surface of the canvas as it grows and connects like musical energy. My infinite information of living contemplates like a trumpet player playing melody and sound traveling through the tunnel of thoughts.
Painting stands still but thought moves within the canvas, like a thinker fixed on the ground and his mind chasing his dreams. It is a visible, abstract world with tangibility but not surreal, because of the very human aura my paintings hold. I have no specific story to tell but the story created through me as I render lines. Lines give me shelter as a mirror that holds my visibility, but it does more by reflecting ideas, structures and objectivity.
